Here is a picture of my engine compartment in 06. The engine is now out and rebuilt. Will post a picture of it back together-perhaps in early June.

You later model guys catch any crap about your emissions? Yeah i know most trucks here dont have to pass emissions, but i was told by a cop once that if you dont have all your factory emissions, you aint getting no sticker. That the shop you get it done at is supposed to make sure you aint running with no cats, no air pump, or EGR valve and that kind of stuff. Whatever the vehicle was supposed to come with. He said that if they do sticker a vehicle like that, they could be up for a nice $10,000 fine. Just something i always wonder about when i see some of these nice engines with none of that extra trash sticking to it.

The shop can always say "Well he had all the proper smog equipment when I last inspected it."  So there is no real way to enforce that unless they catch them in the act.

Ive seen highway patrol officers stake out inspection places and check vehicles right after inspection. Our local inspection shop losst their liscense because of it. This shop was a racers dream. If it didnt run through the wall of the shop when it came in, then it got a sticker. Depends on if the shop has let a few questionable vehicles go through, and how determined the local law enforcement is.

I have had to "buy" stickers before. I did not like to do it, but i didnt have a choice at the time cause i just didn't have the extra $150 on hand for a new cat. I believe in emissions tests, its just hard to pass em sometimes. Even my 87 silverado has to pass emissions for 1 more year lol.
