another washer bottle problem
« on: July 10, 2009, 01:11:22 pm »
A few days ago I got my used washer bottle in that I got off of ebay. Seller said it is in nice shape. Over all it was, except for a few cracks. So I epoxied them. Come today I install it. Looks great to finally have something mounted on the fender after 3 years lol. I fill it with water, so when I finish the wiring and installing the wipers, I can test them. Put the hose back, and saw a puddle on the ground. The epoxy didnt hold. the crack is right next to the bolt. Is there a way to fix it better? Im beginning to think, Ill need to buy a brand new one  >:(

I applied it about 4pm yesterday. Installed it about 130-2pm today.

I re-read the package. Sets in 15, hardened in 1 hour. Do you know what type of plastic it is? For the epoxy is says wont work on polyethylene or polypropylene. This might be why.

I think they are made out of polyethylene. Brand new ones don't cost much.

Ill have to shoot him an email to see how much. In all the catalogs and ebay ads, for new ones were in fact that much.
