Fuse Box
« on: January 19, 2010, 10:54:03 am »
As I was installing some additioinal accessories(relay and toggle to electric fan), I shorted a couple of ACC spots on the fuse box. Is there anything I can do to get these spots back ACC Hot or are those spots permanently blown?

I am working on a 1980 chevy 1/2 ton.

Let me clarify. As you know, there are places where you can insert a single blade into an ACC spot or BATT spot. If that ACC spot is no longer hot when the key is on, is there anything I can do to fix it? A few of those slots do not have a fuse next to it.

The fuse isn't next to it necessarily. They're on the bus bar. Check all of the fuses key on engine off using a test light. Ground your test light lead to a good ground source. Then touch the back of the fuse on both sides. If the test light illuminates on both sides of the fuse, the fuse is ok and working properly. If the fuse lights the test light on one side only it is blown and needs to be replaced.
