B&W Turnover ball hitch
« on: March 21, 2010, 10:06:45 pm »
I have an '87 Short Step 2X and I want to
put a turnover hitch in the bed for moving
gooseneck trailers around the ranch.

Has anyone done this?  The stepside makes
the task a little more difficult as the std
hitch wont work.... But they do have ,,and I have bought the
one that is "Proper" for the installation.

What do you do with the wood bed where the ball
comes through?  Are there any slick custom fabricated
stainless Tiffany-designed options that you could share
with a broken down Rancher from Oregon?

Thanks

Is this for mounting in the bed?

Yep.... It is a 3"x11"x35?" iron box with a trip at one end.   Pull the trip and the ball
hitch appears....pull it again and it flips over giving you a smooth bed.

The ones for the fleet side have wings that overlap the frame, but these do not fit
the step side according to the mfgr......  go figure

Anyway I plan to take the "Often wrong... Never in Doubt" approach. ;D

Got a link?  The only difference I would know of is the width of the bed floor and of course a wood bed.
