Thanks for the info,  I am new here and just started on my 74 stepside 4x4.  Since the cab is rusted out I planned on swapping it over to 3/4 ton running gear from a 80 3/4 4x4.  This answered my questions I had.  This forum is very informative.  Tom

So whats the difference in the front 2 leaf vs. the 3 leaf K10 or K20? Could it have been because of the engine block size (weight) seems to me the 3 leaf would be a lot stiffer and harsh riding. Also is there any ride height difference between the 2 or just load strength? Nice thread with good info!

GVWR is the reason. it all depends on the condition of the springs, neg arch vs positive

I have never seen a K20 with 56" springs. All I have seen are 52". And every K30, both SRW, and DRW have been 56".

The spring center is the same for a K10, and a K20. All of the K30 spring perches are narrower than the K10/20 trucks to accommodate the inner wheels/tires on the DRW cab, and chassis trucks.

I have never been able to find a difference between K10, and K20 frames of same year models. The K30 frames however, are very much different than the others.

This is true, the k30 frames are bigger (taller) than the others.

there is no difference in the frames of a c10 or c20. you will only find different springs axles and brakes this goes for k10 and k20 also
