Dirty rags

What do you guys and girls do when you have some dirty rags? First off, I know NOT to keep them bundled up in a pile! Im talking about those that have oil, grease, coolant, etc on them. Do you throw them away or clean them somehow?

Depends on how dirty they are.  If they aren't too back I generally wash them with Joy dishwashing liquid with my dirty work clothes.  If they have axle grease gooped on, I toss them if they look like they can't be cleaned.

They have mopped up a small oil spill and another with coolant. It was what I had at the moment of the spills. I dont want to wash them because I live so close to the SF bay. I dont know anyone in the auto industry anymore, or I would tap into their rag supply. They get collected and sent off to be cleaned along with the uniforms.

Only thing I would do is take them to the local washateria or whatever it's called...

Call up your local jurisdiction waste management number and ask where to drop them off at.  We have landfills around here that you can throw things away and recycle anything imaginable.  Recycling anything is free, just drop it off.  I am sure it is free in your jurisdiction to get rid of things like that, to deter people from burying them or worse, throwing them in a creek where the oils end up in the Bay.....but, then again, this is Kalifornikstan. Nothing is free.  So, most probably just toss them without a care to avoid paying for anything.

Contact a local service station.  They'll accept your dirty rags.

Just toss 'em. The next big business will be mining all the valuable minerals from old landfills

When I was working in a welding shop we would soak one in eaither and toss it under someone welding and run away then when we got back to our welding table we would scream "Tim your on fire your on fire" about that time smoke and fire would be rolling.

You could check with a uniform company.  At work our uniform company picks them up and washes them no matter how greasy they are and returns them good as new.  Don't know if it would be common for them to cater to the public though.

I toss all of them eventually.  I buy the 50 pack of the red rags at advance for like $5 and use them until they get too dirty or get grease blobs on them and then i toss them out.  I think a 50 pack lasts me like 2 or 3 months.   I keep towels, but toss rags.
