ss front end

Hi im new to the forum. I wanted to know if a ss front end off a 90 model will fit on a 78 model. Front end i mean fenders and grill

If the 90 is the newer 88-98 body style, no. If the 90 is from a 81-91 square body style, yes BUT you need the whole front clip. There is a post in the tech section on what you need. I dont think they made the SS in the older body.

Think he is referring to the SS 454 front end.The answer is no it will not work, the 2 are completly different as far as trucks, body lines, bolt hole locations.Besides why would you want to screw up the great lines of a 73-87 chevy truck in the 1st place????

No it will not work.  You can put a 89-91 R/V front end that looks the same/simular.  Several posts on this..

The 89-91 SUV (Burb/K5) front ends were redesigned to update the older body style to resemble the 88+ GMT-400 body style which is what you are looking for. The 454SS has nothing special over any other composite headlight grille from 88-94 other than a color matched shell and air dam w/fog lights, which is easily recreated.
