He has an adapter. The thing you can do too is to run a couple spacers to get that carb a little higher above the EGR.

Grover, I think that fuel filter was the original, 77,000 miles on it.  My late father in law never changed it apparently.  It said "motorcraft" on it, so it may be original stock equipment. i threw a fram ff679 on that thing and unkinked the hose. Now she gets plenty pressure throughout.

Sarge, I did the same on a 98 contour. Small spaces suck for fuel filter replacement.

Alright guys finally got the EGR delete kit and the carb installed. Finally got her running after soooooo long!!!! Now im noticing that my oil pressure is way over!!! I wouldnt even know where to check so any help as always is appreciated!!!

well is it over full?

If not then could be the gauge or sending unit, should be either above the oil filter or beside the dist. on the driver's side.

What kind of pressure is it running though?

its pegged out past 60 on the gauge! when i first started her up she would jump when i was on the throttle. i took it around the block couple times and it was just jumping when i was on the gas. when i shut her down and started up again it just jumped to 60 and been there ever since!!! when i check the oil it is over. I have a small leak in the oil pan and before i started it up the first time i check just to make sure i wasnt low. it was good but now its over? and its probly next to the distibutor because i had to disconnect it to get the carb hooked up correctly. the adapter put it too high and i had to tinker around to get it right? would replacing it be best to do? it was never a problem before.

you could try replaceing it or putting in a mech. aftermarket gauge. One way like unplugged or grounded it pegs, the other it goes to zero and stays there I forget which is which. It's usually a bulb that screws into a fitting for the gauge.
