I would say it want tight or worked it self free fill it up with water and try it again while you at it test the Rad with a pressure tester

Did it overheat?  if not it's just a problem with the hose.

As Irish said, put a pressure tester on it.

How long had the hose been on? I've had worm clamps back off before.

Just make sure you clean the water pump opening so the hose can grip it better. Coolant is a little slippery.

Like mentioned before, pressure check the system, my thought was if you had a plugged rad or problem with water pump, it would have shown on your temp. gauge.  Keep us posted on what you find, ok......tom

I'd pressure test that cap... If the thermostat was stuck closed, you'd get a lot higher temp!!! Bad water pumps leak.

The bottom hose doesn’t see that much pressure the only problems it should have is if it collapses even if it did see high pressure the water pump will push water from one side of the block to the other and just bypass the hoses ex. when the stat is closed water is still being circulated in the block just not threw the rad. That’s why I think it just might have been lose. They don’t leak all the time just if the seal goes up if the blades wear down no leaks

Good point on if blades wear down, no leaks.
