New, Washington addition here
« on: September 19, 2010, 11:16:53 pm »
Hey guys/gals. Just did a quick search and found this place. I've been into the diesel scene for a while now and got in over my head with my 98 Dodge. So while that thing is down and getting a some more/new goodies. A friend of mine gave me this truck for helping him with his Dodge. She needs a bit of loving, but it's a pretty decent truck and should be fun to tinker with in the mean time. Plus I kind of missed the sound of a gasser with some flowmasters behind it. I'm sure I can find some good ideas and places to buy from around here  ;D. Try to be nice to me. It's been a while since I've messed with anything that had spark plugs! lol
Here's a pic of the Chevy, and of my money pit.

All normal practicality and rational money handling goes out of the window when it comes to my truck.

Welcome. The Chevy with Rainier in the background would have made a better postcard ;D

That square body is pretty cool! What wheel is that you're running? Looks to be bout 18" or so. I like the truck's stance.

Thanks guys  ;D. Not sure what kind of wheel they are, all I know is they are a pain to clean! And they are 17's.

I won't be doing too much to the truck. The motor is a fresh rebuild, but I don't think they did a very good job. It has a horrible vibration. But the guy that gave me the truck has a 383 that he is going to give me as well. I will just have to swap these heads over onto that shortblock. And I'm on the search for a Turbo 350 or 400 to get rid of that 4 speed. It's pretty much just a beat on truck while I dump all my money into that silver thing.

Yes it is Lake Tapps. I grew up on the north end of the Lake and didn't move far when I left home. I like this area too much!

lol, no way!! The diesel is a lot of fun, tows like crazy and I like the sound. But I still love the exhaust note from a mildly built gasser.
