New guy from TX
« on: November 07, 2010, 09:34:08 pm »
Hello everyone. Just about finished with a frame off restoration / redo "father and son" project. Started with a worn out '86 Chevy 1500 Stepside with 4.3L V6 and 3SPD w/OD (4 SPD) manual trans. New bushings and ball joints for the front end, new seals for the rear end. Replaced the tired V6 with an Gen II LT-1 350 and a 700R4 trans. Removed most of the chrome. Replaced the wood bed floor with steel flooring from LWB, and cleaned up the rear view by removing the chains and capping the bed rails.....oh, and reskinned the tailgate. New interior with bucket seats from '08 HHR. Still working thru some minor wiring problems, but getting there.
