Real Noob Question

Please don't think less of me, but I have no clue how to turn on the high beams in my '86. Can someone help me?

The only other option from what they said would be if the cab and/or column was older and had the dimmer switch peg on the floor.

I thought about that, mine is on the floor of emmy. But I figured 86 had it on the column. Unless it's a hybrid

Good, I'm not cracking up. The stalk doesn't work apparently, so I just assumed I was lame. How hard is it to replace the switch?

The Lever moves a rod that engages the switch at the bottom of the column.  

Check to make sure the rod is seated in that switch properly first.

I got a chance to look at this last night. The rod is seated, but it just kinda flexes sideways instead of pressing the button. Is there a way to lube or clean the button to make it work more smoothly or is this a replacement item?

It's 24 years old...
The Highs were prolly not used in a few years and the switch was "stiff" from dirt/grim.

I have had a few things that worked a little goofy the first few times I used them on my 87.....

youd be amazed what a little bit  of cleaning  and lube can do ... had the same problem in my 87  before i swaped out the column for an 89 model ....  all I did was wd-40 it  and work it a few times
