Yep.  I'm of the opinion that for internal combustion engines, so far the only thing better than gasoline is diesel.   and hydrogen one day when they figure out how to do it on a large scale, cheaply.

"We'll still be mandating ethanol long after the internal-combustion engine is obsolete."

sad but true

Obamanomics. Destroy everyone's vehicle's by reducing oil and gasoline performance and make them obsolete or more expensive to operate than actually going out and buying a Prius.  Everyone will be forced to buy vehicle's with the technology that will support alternative fuels and still get decent driveability but if you own one of the good ole boys watch out because the government is coming to get your ride one way or another.

Obamanomics.

Um... ethanol was GW's big deal in his 2007 State of the Union speech. The same month he gave it, everyone was calling it nonsense. The food riots in Asia were a surprise though.

Regardless, Obama is the one pushing more than ever to "stimulate the economy" and enforce "green technology" But my point wasn't to start a political debate on politicians and presidents individually. Let's just say the government and call it a day.

If the Govt is pushing it this hard, you know something stinks.  You know each and every politician has been to college about engines and oil and fuel sources.

The alcohol in the the fuel is eventually going to degrade rubber hoses essentially rendering vehicles using it useless.

That's lovely, especially those super easy to get to lines from the top of the gas tank.

The sad part is that if someone could actually make a profit with "green technology" they would have already been doing it. When "the government" subsidises anything, you know it's probably a lost cause.
