Weather stripping

What do you recommend as far as weatherstripping? My doors are kinda breezy and the cargo doors leak real bad. Can I get pre-cut kit or a roll and DIY? Do they make it in poly yet? How about a Suburban sized kit or roll? What brands are good better and best? I have to do some research before I put it on my b-day list. Thanks guys.

I bought a Precision brand set for my truck, and they probably make the extra stuff for suburbans--not sure. The seals and felts are very nice, supple rubber and fit well except for a small curve on my inner belt (on the door panel) that doesn't match up exactly right. I might be able to get it to fit a little better when I get the time to work on it. It is pricey stuff compared to the metro brand, but Precision is made in the U.S.A. (Wisconsin) which I like and the quality I'm told is much better. At auto parts stores you can get a roll of door seal weatherstrip that would probably work for your doors as a cut-to-fit, but I don't know about the quality. Chris on this site has mentioned before that he may be carrying the Precision stuff at some point soon, but if not there's several distributors. I went with jcwhitney, but shop around as they weren't the best deal on every seal or kit. I called Precision and they gave me a list of their distributors to check and also their retail prices if you want to shop direct (although their prices are often more than their distributors).

If not available on this site, try
www.truckandcarshop.com
Reasonable prices, and I was happy with all the rubber I got from them for my '71. Will deal with them again on the present burb project when the time comes.

There are two tools needed, duct tape and WD40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD 40.

Chris, have you got that shipment yet? Can you at least send me quote that I can turn in to the insurance. Thanks.

I have to vouch some more for precision's stuff. It is real good.
If you read any of my posts about the window seals being crappy, they weren't. I ordered the wrong stuff. and since I got the RIGHT stuff. the windows roll up and down like butter and there are no whistles anywhere, period.
