Lifting saddle tanks?

I saw something about being able to lift the saddle tanks after a body lift is installed. If this is possible what would be required? I bought the truck with a 3" body lift and don't really want to go through the hassle to remove it. It really looks lame with the tanks hanging down, lol. I'd rather switch to a single rear tank, but don't have the funds to do it right now. Any help would be appreciated.

you would have to either modify the brackets or redrill the holes, and it would only go up 3" and they still hang below the cab.

Three inches higher would look better than they do now. If I did want to rear mount a tank what would I have to do? I would guess new fuel lines, lengthen the electrical wires and then figure out how to actually mount the tank. Any advice would be great, as I think this is what I'd ultimately like to do.

I might go to a 1" body lift, just for the extra clearance under hood. But I guess I'd really rather ditch the saddle tanks, mostly because I don't want to bash them on rocks off road. No need to become a rolling firebomb, lol. If anyone can tell me what I need to install a tank in the rear it would be appreciated.

A rear tank can get bashed just as easily and side tanks! I know Ive bashed them both. My Blazer's tank looks like its been beat with a big hammer. I have bashed a pickup tank on a chunk of granite so bad is gashed a hole in it, never caught fire.

Main thing is I'd like to run rock sliders eventually. So the saddle tanks would have to go. If I kept the body lift couldn't I raise a rear tank up higher between the frame rails?

I'm don't know what a rock slider is, but if it is what it sounds like it might be; you might want to consider putting a tank in the bed of your truck.

i have a 3" body lift and faced the same problem, however my frame had a few extra holes up higher which i thought was brilliant GM engineering, anyway i moved the tanks up about 2.5" and now you can barely see them, not sure if ALL our frames have this provision or not mine did not look like it was drilled out by anyone.
