Whenever I get a classic car I run the numbers usually on the cowl tag find out int outside paint etc. I have a 1980 chevy Cheyenne k10 I know from the vin it's a 350 and was made in Janesville etc. It looks like it's orig engine as it has 56k miles on it and the air still hooked up etc nothing is missing looks stock to me. Is the engine code on the driver side toward the firewall where my 64 was? I was trying to see how matching numbers from paint to anything on this rig is. Also did they have bucket type seats with a wooden console in 80. I had a matching number 78 it was a bench seat nothing like this..

Prolly more like 250K on it as the odometers on these roll back to zero for every 100K....

And as beastie said, in the glove box is a sticker with all your codes.

the engine code (on the block back right side near the firewall) will tell you if it is indeed a 350 and what generation. For more specific details look for a number on the heads. The options list would be in the glove box and would tell you the options ordered for the truck.
