Bench seat

I have an 84 silver and would like to know how many different truck years will the seats bolt right in to mine without any major fabrication.  Thank You

Should just be 73-87. Many people make custom brackets for other seats. chevy 88-98, 99+ and ram seats are popular swaps.

Just 73-87 will bolt in (and 88-91 for the R/V series)

I used a bench seat out of a 90's (newer style) in my '80.
I used the brackets from my '80 and only had to drill two new holes in the bottom of the seat.

The older version physically will bolt in however if the seatbelts don't go through the seat bottom but in between and you are a large person around the middle the seat belt will be tight.  I put a 1974 seat in a 1982 and had that issue.  You will also tend to loose the belts between the seat bottom/back if you have to have the seat forward as a vertically challenged person would have to do.  My $.03

Anybody know what year and make truck i can get a bench seat with a fold down center console. Brackets arent an issue Im a metal fabricator so i can probably make almost anything work.

if you can make brackets, then go to the junk yard and get one that you like the best.

my '90 chev seat doesn't have a console but it does have a fold down arm rest for the driver. It works perfect if i have a rider in the middle; it keeps them out of my way so I can shift. My 97 ford had a fold down center console and I have seen one of these installed in an 80 something chevy.

Sorry to hijack this thread but it looked like the perfect place to ask my question.

I'm trying to do the same thing in my '87.  I have a early 90's seat with the fold down arm rest.  I have it sitting side by side to the old one and I have no idea how you only had to drill two holes to get the old brackets to fit the new seat.

Is there anyway you could elaborate on this?  Maybe some pics and measurements?  Thanks.

I did this a couple of years ago so bear with me;
I removed the seat brackets from both seats.
I then installed the seat bracket from my '80 onto the seat from the '90.
The back holes line up.
The front holes- I drilled through the bracket and the bottom of the seat and bolted them together.
Note that there a flat bar that runs across the front and bottom of the seat this is where I drilled.
After that the holes line up the same as the old seat you do not need to modify anything on the floor.
Things line up fairly good, If I remember right I did bolt the back in and put it in the truck to be sure things line up before drilling the front.

I'll try to take some pics of the bottom of the seat and bracket next time I have the seat out of the truck. In the mean time if you take some pics maybe I can point you in the right direction.
