can someone give me the rundown on the function of each of the three tubes on top of the sending unit? what would b the diff between 2 and 3 tube units?

The 3 port ones have a feed, return, and vent line. From what I understand the 2 port ones do not have a return line.

Grim is right, all sending units should have a vent line in our trucks.
