I am trying to search my memory, I just answered this on another thread.  I believe the 350 came in 3 lengths. 6" 9" and 12".  The 700r4 is a 9" tail shaft I believe.  Here is a link about the same subject.

What are you trying to do ?  Are you thinking about changing out the 350 for a 700 r4 ?  This has been done on here, there are threads covering this topic, you need to do some searching.

I can tell you the TH350 installed in my 1985 C10 is the same length as the 700R4 I removed from a 1987 C10 I parted out...

Not relevant to the question but if someone has a 3 speed column shift manual transmission and wants to make it an automatic, a short tail shaft TH350 will go in its place using the same driveshaft.

The drive shaft will work, but not sure of the cross member mounting, but that is easy to move.

You will use the same cross member, just use a different set of holes.  You may have to drill them if the year of your trucks frame never came with a 700R4 as an option.  Just remember your safety glasses...

Check this out...
Ok so I have a sticker that showes that the truck came with the 700r4. When I look at the trans its a th350. When I look at the cross member where it bolts to the frame I see two diff sets of scew holes. So I know the trans has been changed out at some point.

Is 65 bucks a good price for a core 700r4 somethin to rebuild. It came out of an s10. I'm waiting on him to give me the # on the trans

Well he gave me the #s
24202520 I'm gonna take a wild guess and say I can't use this one. He says it came from a 95 s10, central port injection...

He has also told me it has a K stampled on the bellhousing. I guess I need to figure out what spline count is on this thing. Its quite far away and I may be able to find one closer before I make that long drive. But it is 65 bucks
