a few ponderables I thought of along those same lines:

How many dollars is a $20 bill worth? I guess it depends on the value of the dollar at any given time.

If you are in a 10 feet deep pool, how far down would you have to swim to touch the bottom? Perhaps it depends on how big your foot is.

If a boat leaves Virginia Beach and begins at sea level, what elevation would it be at if it docks at Daytona Beach, Fl? Remember, Florida is below Virginia on a map.

If an airplane traveling at 30,000 feet above sea level crosses over a 3,000 foot high mountain, how high would the airplane be traveling then? Perhaps it depends which sea the mountain is in.

I interviewed for maintenance for the state just to try different state jobs. And it has about 20 questions 5 people ask you, right in the middle of these questions about maintenance the supervisor ask “ what weighs more, a ton of bricks or a ton of feathers.” I was shocked and replied “the same” I then waited for someone to start laughing or crack a smile. But nope they wrote down my answer and continued with the questions. I was telling this story to a co-worker and before I finished with my answer he cuts me off and says “ the bricks right?” I said “and that’s why they asked that question”

That totally was an act!  It couldn't possibly be that difficult to anyone!!

I'll show my engineer side and say that question about a boat leaving from Virginia Beach and docking at Daytona Beach is a tricky one because you have to know how long it takes the boat to travel, what day it is and when it leaves!  Why???...because of the tidal exchange.  If it is about 620 nautical miles and you travel an average of 11 knots then it takes you about 56 hours to get there.  If you leave today at 8 am EST and arrive there at about 2 pm EST, 2 days later then the tide has gone from +3.6 ft to -0.1 feet and you are 3.7 feet lower than you started off!

I think you missed the point Irish.
I say if you turned them on after you were traveling at light speed they would do no good as the light could never get out in front of you.
If you turned them on, and then proceeded to light speed then the light would always be out in front of you!
