Put me in charge...
« on: April 27, 2012, 09:33:12 pm »
WRITTEN BY A 21 YEAR OLD FEMALE     Wow, this girl has a great plan!  Love the last thing she would do the best.

This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it.  It's her future she's worried about and this is how she feels about the social welfare big  government state that she's being forced to live in!  These solutions are  just common sense in her opinion.

This was in the Waco Tribune Herald, Waco, TX, Nov 18, 2011

PUT ME IN CHARGE . . .

Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans,  blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want  steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal legations. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use  drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing.  Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be  inventoried.  If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your  own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job.  It may be cleaning the roadways  of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you.  We  will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo  and speakers and put that money toward the "common good.."

Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary.  If you want our money, accept our rules.  Before you  say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider  that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing  absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices.  The current system  rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

AND While you are on Gov't subsistence, you no longer can VOTE!  Yes,  that is correct.  For you to vote would be a conflict of interest.  You will  voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov't  welfare check.  If you want to vote, then get a job.

My grandparents told me a lil story about my mom n dad when they were young...

They had welfare/help for 9 months when they first got married and my sister was newborn in the early 70's....  they used it, and when they got on their feet which they did quickly as they could, they GAVE BACK all the free furniture, PAID BACK much of the money and tried to make it as though they didn't use it to begin with.  I've NEVER heard of this.  Never once.  I think this should be a requirement.  if you make it, you pay it back as much as you can, not as much as is convenient...

This surprised me, not because of my parents, just that this hasnt occured to me.  I havent used welfare, I needed it a few times, but i wouldn't do it.  i might have if i had thought about it the way my parents did.

the only problem i see is you need some meat to survive, maybe hamburger but something. but the rest i'am for. it should be if you get help from the government then you should have drug test.

I agree 100% with her statement.  There was once in my life that I lost my job, it took me 2 months to get another job, 3 1/2 months to really get back on my feet.
In the mean time, everyone was telling me to file for unemployment and get government help, I refused.  At the time I was married with no children, my ex and I ate potatoes, onions, and hamburger meat for a little over 2 1/2 weeks straight, that is all we had till I got a pay check, her family was useless and mine, well we will for ease, and not a history lesson say that I have been on my own since I was 11 yrs old.
It irritates me to no end these days that more and more people expect something for nothing and on top of that think they deserve it for some stupid reason, like the universe owes them.  Kinda makes me want to start a colony on another planet some times.  Any takers ?   ;D

As kids growing up my father was adamant that we would NEVER go on welfare. He was on it as a child after his father passed away. We never had the need to because he always had a good job, and my mother always had some part time thing for extra money, and play stuff.
To this day I have never used welfare, I have collected unemployment once for 3 months.
I agree with her thinking 100%. I think the no voting is nail on the head!

i don't agree totally with the above and i'll tell you why in greater detail later.

2) i would like to add my own stipulations to the above as well:

My easy solution for illegal/legal immigration:

Forget about the walls---instead give sizable cash rewards($2K-10K) for anyone(who is a legal citizen) providing information leading to the discovery of any illegals being employed.  We would have "immigration teams" stationed strategically geographically and very mobile leading to fast investigations.  This would be much cheaper and effective than building a wall.

Now for immigration in general:   ANYONE is welcomed to this country IF they can post a $50,000 "bond."  This money is held by us and doesn't pay interest, but we'll certainly use it to make more money.

In the first 5 years, you are a "provisional citizen"---i guess we call it resident alien or something like that?   If, in the first 5 yrs, you are convicted of any felony, then deportation.  If you get 3 misdemeanors excluding traffic citations, then deportation.

Now, in these 5 years, you must earn (gross) at least $50,000.   This is quite reasonable if you think about it.   If you succeed in grossing $50,000, then you get your principal 50K back and welcome to america.  You now are granted full citizenship.

I have always thought that while on welfare that they should be drug tested every so often.  I get drug tested at work every few months so why can't they?  I agree with giving enough to eat with but not enough to eat better then me who is busting my butt to put food on there table as well as mine.  I will say that my mom was on welfare when I was young and I remember eating Chef boyordee a lot.

Only Thing I would Change, (or say) is there are people honestly needing the help. who can't work(mentally ill, physically disabled, mentally disabled etc) that are not abusing or using the system to be lazy. They should some able to have some normal lifestyle. you know the ones who earned and don't want to be on the welfare services but have no choice because business refuse to higher you because your a health "liability". for the rest Heck them. make the lazy people work is a good.

hurt self esteem?! Heck that is the problem theses days! if you don't get hurt how do you learn?

Voting? do people with no education and live on welfare programs know what that is?

Just to be open here,
I am a unemployable Disabled woman. I only get Medicad and EBT. I refuse goverment houseing, unemploment, and the rest.  They Give me to much for food ($200/month) and the things you can't get and can are stupid. can't get a healthy premade (re hot roasted chicken with corn bean etc) but I can buy all the candy I want. I can get russet potatos but not idho. >.<

and w/o medicad I be died. my doctors cost $5000/month with meds. without medicad with medacad I have to come up with only $200. Am I sitting at home watching tv? heck no. on the computer nope! I'm going agenst what my doctors say and looking for a  "censored word's will get you removed from this forum" job. I go in to dhhr for an apontment, I am ashamed. people saying wheres my money, I yell at them at the job you will not get Heck tard. but if you want your chairtiy sit the Heck down and they will be with you. I ask them to lower what I get they rised it 0o. my gawd. it is not a good thing when you walk into dhhr. it's a bad thing, and should give thinks to God that the kind good working people are semi happy to help the truelly needy. the whole welfare system needs shut down, and re done to help the people who need it, not pay people who cheat and abuse it like it is now. I have never lied to get on anything. and aways hope they drop me. but shot I can't say having food to eat and meds to keep me alive is not a blessing.  I just hope and pray some business will hire me soon so I can get off it.

but then I'm not trying to live off the goverment. Heck them that are.

Sadly in today's world many people misunderstand the meaning of a 'Hand Up' vs A 'Hand Out'
and this is proven as some are a third generation on government assistance.  :-[

Bribery is illegal unless you're speaking of politics.  The more people receiving free checks equals more people who vote for Democrats, as a general rule.  Having the gov't take care of more people equals more job security for the Democrat Party.  So, though it will never happen, I agree with losing some rights if on the taxpayers' tab.  Voting should be one.  But, again, it goes back to only property owners being able to vote, back 160 years ago.  That is wrong.
Receiving free money and be able to vote is bribery.  This will and is propelling us into a Socialistic society.  Anyone who cannot see this is blind.   The experiment of the United States has seen its better days. I believe it is a natural progression of a Democracy.  Politicians know how to make this a better country, but they put themselves and their party first, over the country---which means they cross their fingers when the take the Oath of Office to uphold the Constitution and do what's best for this country.  Politicians do not look 20 years into the future, they look only 4 years into the future and it's all about the Political Party.
