update on my dually
« on: May 10, 2012, 02:36:19 pm »
i finally got my dually to where he is safe to drive on the road again. replacing the brake hose definitly fixed my problem and had improved how it handles driving. since i replaced the rotor caliper brake pads and brake hose its much easier to steer my truck and i can even now hit the brakes and the wheel doesnt want to jerk ur hand in loops. and its even helped a little with acceleration since now it doesnt have the caliper grabing the rotor all the time. sorry i didnt get video of me doing the job as i cant find my camera but maybe next time in i hope the long future i can get video of it. also i would like to thank all the guys here that have helped me with so much stuff with my truck if it wasnt for help here i might not even have the truck

Hey I'm Jeff i'm new here on the forum i just wanted to ask if that 6.0 big block you have is one of those gmc 366 motors found in dumptrucks?  I have one in an old dump truck but i've never seen one swapped into a 1 ton how do you like it?

yes its from a 87 c-70 24ft boxtruck and i love it people give it a bad rep but ehy i got no complaints i can haul anything i want in my truck or pull anything. ive already had to pull 2 18 wheelers one had a 52ft shipping container loaded full and they were both up hill and also hauled 2.41 tons of gravel in the truck had no problems getting up to speed. to me this motor is in my terms a good deal engine you can get them cheap running right out of a old truck and drop right in. they may not be the most powerful but when it comes time for it to get the job done its always reliable. these engines are pretty much bulletproof when correctly maintained and are hard to kill as long as u dont have it at high rpms. heres a link of what it looks like in my 1 ton if u want to see it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bemENViwwQ
