My passenger door is rubbing in the upper left corner ( if you are looking at the door) and starting to surface rust. Thoughts?

Yes they have a lot of adjustment to them but you may only need hinge pin bushings if the door has any up and down movement.

I had the same problem with the lower right of my driver door.
Remove 1 shim from the upper door hinge, or try a thinner shim. it should bring it out just enough to clear the cab.

I recommend doing the pins and bushings either way, make the doors open and shut nice and sweet.

I currently don't have an wiiggle play in my doors. Ill look into the shims for now. I'm planning on replacing both door shells within the next year so ill hold off in the bushings. My main concern is preventing rust on the cab.

is the gap at the bottom big or is the top closing too much?

There is adjustments at 2 points and as mentioned hinge pin bushings can cause sagging issues. The shims that are used to adjust the door when it is hung, and the bolts that hold on the hinges themselves have adjustments.
You can loosen up the bolts and slide the hinges around some to do finer adjustments.

Shouldn't need shims for doors. There is more than enough adjustment between doors, and hinges on these trucks. If you need to shim the doors there is deeper problems than just being out of adjustment. Cab sag due to rust, poor rocker panel / floor replacement, etc.?

So start by loosening the hinges on the body and positioning the door?

Yes, and check the movement or your hinges to make sure there is not excessive play in them.

Even just a little bit of play will cause alot of movement at the far end of the door.
Also is your sticker bolt out of adjuatsment, or worn? Does it still have the plastic on it?

Looks like bad bushings on the lower hinge and the striker pin is off

so an update on this problem. The bushings are shot in the lower passenger hing. I purchased a new pin and bushing from autozone. BUT, I am having one heck of a time getting out the old one.
I have been soaking it with WD-40 and Freeze off for the past day to get it loose. Wailed on it with a hammer and punch but no movement. any tricks here?
A friend of mine said that my model doesn't have the ability to just swap pin and bushing. Said that the bolt on hinges must be replaces as a whole assembly.

Can you post a pic of what you are looking at as far as the hinge goes.
