Which NV4500 for my NP208 transfer case?

I have my 82' K10 in the shop for clutch work. Would love to get a 5 speed, so this might be the time to do it. I have a NP208 transfer case, 350 Chevy, and the SM465 in there now. Thanks for your help!

NV3500/4500 would work, though from my research there is no adaptor plate the will mount a np208 to the NV3500/4500 transmission. This article might help

.
The NP205 might be a better choice for you. Good luck.

The early 241 which was behind the NV4500 will interchange with the 208, so a NV4500 should work. Going to a NV3500 in my opinion is downgrading from the SM465.

What kind of use do you use your truck for? If you don't use it for towing heavy loads and just need an O/D for better fuel mileage, here's an idea that'll save you a lot of time and money. Go find yourself a set of 3.08 or 2.73 axles. With 2.73's, 4th gear on your SM465 would be like an O/D.
