If it is an overdrive, yes but if it has a L,1,2,3 they are fairly common

Not selling mine, but thought I would chime in, since I don't know much about my transmission

That is the rare one.  It is a New Process A-833 RPO MY6 for C10 or MY7 for a K10.  I read some where that 0.6% of the trucks had that transmission.  They were never put in anything heavier than a 1/2 ton.  I have 3 of them myself.  GM used them from 81-87 in the pick ups and full sized vans believe it or not.

Wow they're that rare?  How would I find a number?  Of course mine is a 81 c10 stepside, so I guess not so rare then?

If you have the sticker in the glove box or fender well under the hood, it will tell you the code.

I chased out 500 miles one way for my first one.  Second one I bought a whole 83 GMC that had the complete set.  The third, I stumbled across it at a swap meet for $35.  Never seen one in action yet except the Dodge version in a 76 Plymouth I almost bought.

I was just about to post a topic related to this; I want to swap my 700R4 out for an M22 rockcrusher. Has anyone done this before, and is there any advice/things i should be doing to swap an auto to a 4-speed? my trucks a 2wd as well, so besides cutting the floor up for the shifter i'm not sure what else to do.
I also have a couple A-833 Chrysler 4-speeds, can I make it work?
