1982 c10 stepside autocross?

Not talking anything down, just a opinion.  Yeah coilovers like QA1's would be ideal, just wish I would have done some modular control arms though, but that's another 1k . It ads up quick, just depends how deep your pockets are.  There was a guy running 10" wides all around and he said it was amazing, but yeah shocks are very key too.  On the subject of 4 link setups, what do you guys use?  I was looking into those to so it would stop side-side movement play.

Nope my7, it was a heavy duty trans built for 1 ton trucks I believe, a very stout trans. But yeah it's a 4 with overdrive.  I've had a couple of guys on the forum and at the shops that have told me this.

is there any bolt on kits for a 4 link rear with coil overs and if so what kinda fab work and cost would be assoicated with it i have a job as a machinist now and can use the shop i work at to do fab work on my truck during the weekends, and how hard is it to do coilovers on the front of these trucks any sort of bracing i can do to stiffen up the frame without adding too much weight.

Well to make coilovers possible you would have to have custom upper and lower arms to have the right brackets an the rear you would have to convert to a trailing arm system to do away with the leafs, and as far as a easy 4 link, I've only seen universal ones that you cut to fit.

ive been looking around online could i buy a 4 link kit for the rear then just modify to fit coil overs instead of bags and with the front would it have to be custom or could i buy new upper and lowers and modify is there a way to mount the coilovers in the original spring pockets and mount to the lower control arm or would that be too short. im tryin to think outside the box here and figure something different out. or even run coilovers in the rear and do a bag set up in the front and play with the air pressure to get it set up

well looks like for time being gonna just run coils springs in front and leafs in the rear with a front sway bar then add a rear later on if it needs it right now I'm moving weight from the front to the back by relocating the battery and pulling bunch of extra stuff i don't need from the engine compartment and the interior.

Reduce unsprung weight and Oversteer, upgrade your suspension with good coil over shocks, tighten up the front end, reduce front end weight, modify the rear suspension, good tires. Drop spindles, tubular A-arms, sway bars the sky is the limit but what kind of budget do you have?

im in college at UNOH and i work fulltime i can afford some here and there. I wanna do cheap stuff first tho but same time dont wanna do something then have to change it all up. Alot of the work i can do at work too i have a full machine shop at my disposal on the weekends.  If i run some good drop springs, shocks, redo all the bushings in the suspension and some heavy sway bars can i get a good start on it. I have found some tires im gonna look at on 17s which are little bigger rim than i wanted to go but if i can get a good price ill probably pick them up. They are some dunlops cant remember the size im gonna go check them out this weekend. Whats gonna be the best bet for reducing my unsprung weight? Im a newbie to this whole autocross deal i have done drag racing and mud racing just wanting something different. The school offers this as a club and all i have seen is imports and then just some jank vehicles running around this course.
