Got a new steering gearbox and ball joints on the tie-rod / arm... forget what it's called, it's between the arm attached to the gearbox and the wheel.

Steering is much better, although it's still kinda doing the sticking/settling bit around quick-ish hard turns/corners. Pretty since I have locking hubs, and they're unlocked, that it being stuck in 4wd (if it is) wouldn't be a thing.  Unless the hub(s) is worn. Curious if it's the shock attached to the drag link that runs wheel to wheel is sticking or not doing what it's supposed to. The chrome rod looks clean, so maybe the action of it has gone bad?

Now, as I believe I mentioned, I'm pretty sure everything is original from the 70's and I'm pretty sure the shocks aren't doing much. The front springs are upside-down, not a "u" like the rear leafsprings. From what I've read this is for a smoother road ride but makes for more bounce. With the front shocks not doing their job (well), the ride is pretty dang bouncy in the front. I understand I have quite a ways to go with upgrades/repairs before this truck is super-solid and it's gonna take some time and a lot of money - which I don't have. Luckily my Harley just got delivered from FL so I can ride that and save 3x the gas $ so I can catch up on bills and save for repairs.
