anyone know where to find the gasket that goes between the glass and frame..it looks thin and i think its the one that holds the glass...

they dont have that gasket,well not sure if its a gasket really.. maybe its just something to hold the glass in place..

I got mine a while back on ebay... i rebuilt the vent windows and they came out pretty good... thought about installing a one piece window kit?

The one piece window looks nice! , but kinda $$$ for me right now.. How you just replace the glass, by taking it out of the frame?

are you just wanting to replace the thing that goes between the glass and the metal piece to prevent the window from coming out? its kinda like silicon... if thats the case what i used before is this silicon they sell especially for windows, the stuff they used when replacing a new windshields.. its black and you use a normal glue gun... usually sell about about +/- 10 dollars.. dont worry about it if you get it past the window after it drives you can clean it up with a thin razor blade...

Ohh ok cool thanks.. Wasn't sure if I could use something else to keep the glass in the frame.. What about if I want to take the glass off, I have a broken vent frame with good glass, I was thinking on using that glass in my truck..

on each side slide a box cutter blade since its thicker and stronger than a razor blade and try to tare the silicon and separated from the glass... work from the top towards the bottoms since you can used the top part as leverage when you start separating the piece from the glass... i´m not very good at explaining instructions on how to do things but i hope it makes some sense..

Some call it "setting tape". You may find it at some auto glass places. It's feels like soft rubber. I was able to remove my glass by slowly prying it out from top to bottom with a small flat head screw driver. Then I did the same thing with the tape.. I was lucky to get it out with tearing it. Do a google search for "vent window rebuild process". Hope this helps.

I'll look it up, I don't think anybody sell that piece anymore .. I guess I can glue it, but if something it be hard to get it out again..

got mine at a glass shop....   Advanced Auto Glass     http://www.advancedautoglass.com/

it came on a roll. used some windshield glue to set the glass in it. It comes in different thicknesses, so if you have the frame out, take it with you, along with the glass.
