New Guy Here!
« on: May 21, 2013, 07:24:07 pm »
Hello everyone, my name is Art and I'm in Cali along the River. First I gotta say thanks for a

great site, I'm not new to these trucks had one 73 and two 86 duallies and a 73 3/4 ton

beater over the last 20 years, but just in the last few days of  lurking I learned quite a bit of

stuff I didn't know, learn something new every day. Now that I've downsized I found this 74

C-10 I couldn't pass up guy didn't know what he had, said it had a rebuilt 350 and auto trans

and said it was in good shape that's all he knew about it, so I go look at it and I find a totally

rust/dent free truck with a brand new Vortec 350 and 700R tranny and a Powertrax locker,

rear end has a flip kit and the front has 3" drop springs and 2 1/2" spindles and it rides like a

charm, interior needs redone except for the seat... Plans are to swap the bed for a stepside,

some decent wheels and tires and replace the small block with a 468 from one of my duallies,

new dash with Autometer gauges and give her a paint job.. Got too much to do right now so

I'll just drive it for a while, probably start on it come winter.. In the meantime I'll read and

learn, glad to be here..
