Master cylinder r/r
« on: June 04, 2013, 06:28:57 pm »
I am planning on replacing my brake m/s and I wanted a quick check list on the r/r.

Remove old lines
Unbolt and yank off.

New:
bench bleed
Bolt on
Hook up lines and have someone push on the brakes, crack line and close quick and repeat a couple times each.
Done?

What size  line wrench do I need?

I plan on doing more brake work, otherwise I would do a whole flush.

Thanks, Matt

i think their 3/8 and 1/2 and 9/16... sometimes the nuts on the master are 15mm... oh the front calipers are 10mm i think... and remember to start bleeding the back first...

Are you saying I have to do a complete system flush with this r/r?

i would do it all at once so you dont have to do it  once or twice more

something like that... thing is since your going to be disconnecting the lines air will get in between the master cylinder and the lines so and you have to get that air out for them to function properly... i recommend a pair of speed bleeders out back... makes work soooo much easier...

Well, the thing is I don't have a flat place to work and my m/c is leaking. I am already planing on replacing my braking system as money comes in. but I don't have the place and several hundred to do it at once.

what do you want to replace? and you dont need a flat surface to bleed the breaks the brake bleeders are only about 11.99 for the pair... works much better than buying an expensive brake bleeder tool... what do you mean when you say replacing brake system?
