Cab mount question
«

Im at the point to decide if I want to replace the cab mounts on my 76 c10. I'm about to do some sheet metal work on the cab floor so now is the time to replace them while I can get to them easley if I'm going to.
For those of you who have replaced your cab mounts, on a scale of 1 to 5, how much of a difference did new mounts make?
Thanks

Family is not an important thing. It's everything.

one thing to keep in mind if you use those poly bushings from a company like energy suspension they are harder than stock which will transfer more to the cab

I'll be replacing all mine but I think I'll stick with the factory ones, after all they lasted this long so the new ones should outlast me, lol..

It depends on how bad they are now. I have replaced them where corners were sagging and it straighten out the body lines so....

Well, mine aren't sagging yet but they have quite a few cracks in them.

Thanks for the info. Mine look a little tired, but not cracked as far as I can now. I'll get a better look when I cut the rusty floor pan out. I surly don't want a harsher ride. It has been 7 years since this truck was on the road (except for the 5 mile drive home), it was a daily driver that I never road in befor we got it from my wife's uncle, so I can't say if it had any body squeaks or not. I did drive it home but that was at 30 mph and I was more worried about listing to the drive train than the chassis suspension then.

74 C10 Shorty, I'm with you on that one. I kind of though on a few replacement options that if the replacement lasts as long as the OEM, then I wont be around to replace it next time anyway. This is not going to be a show truck by any means, so a little sag wont hurt me (I already sagging in a lot of places). It's project to learn and do something I have always wanted to do, resore (how ever you want to define that that term) a vehicle. I'll probable only drive it on weekends to Home Depot so this does not have to be A+ job.

Well, it was made to drive and I'm gonna drive it as much as I can and enjoy it, not into the trailer queen thing, lol, so my priority is reliability and if it's clean and looks nice I'll be happy..
