removing the overload spring
« on: June 22, 2013, 10:59:33 am »
I have a 75 stepside with a 3/4  drop and of course now I want to drop just a little more running 275/60 on 8" rally rims I did have to trim my control arms for the rally as many have stated. I want to now add a 1" dropped coil and for the rear thought about removing the overload. back in my mini truck days in the 80's id probably just add two 100 pound bags of sand in the rear and call it good. So question is has anybody removed the helper spring?

I've only got leaves on mine...I think they were 4 (3+overload) originally. I do have airbags for helpers if carrying much weigh, but as far as ride goes, it's pretty nice. Lorne

The bracket in the picture , Will it have some sort of torque arm to reduce spring wrap ?

dalefan316, the stance on your trucks in the pictures is great. What kind of drop is on the truck?
