Hello from Victoria, Australia
« on: September 23, 2013, 09:33:02 pm »
Hey all.

My name is Callum and i am from victoria in australia. I have just purchased my first chevy truck. Unfortunately in australia parts for these beasts are rare and because we need to convert them to RHD there are very few importers and they are not cheap.

However i managed to get a 1979 K30 Dually crew cab. Hopefully ill get a build/restore thread up shortly.

Its great to be here ;-)

Welcome from California.  So it is a law that you have to convert all vehicles driven in Australia to RHD ?

Welcome from California.  So it is a law that you have to convert all vehicles driven in Australia to RHD ?

If the vehicle is a certain age you dont need to convert it. In the past you had to have a sticker on the back of the car saying "Left Hand Drive Vehicle"

However i think that has changed.

But when you spend your entire life driving on the right hand side you really want to convert them.

I think unless you lived overseas and owned a vehicle that is LHD you MUST convert it when you bring it here.

Ill get some photos up shortly

Welcome. I just dealt with someone from Australia on eBay who wanted to buy some Harley parts I was selling. As crazy as the shipping is it's still cheaper for him since parts are apparently hard to get down under. Look forward to your build
