I just put the first miles on my "new" 1987 Custome Deluxe 10 with the 5.7 liter V8 fuel injected. After the first 200 miles without pushing it, I'm getting about 9MPG. Is this normal? The engine seems to be running fine. Thanks for reading.

my 79 k20 with 38's 4.10 gears sm465 and 350 gets 9. make sure your tires are inflated right. keep her under 60 and you should see a increase. unless your speedo/ odometer is wrong

The first thing i would ask is how exactly are you calculating your mpg?

Also does it have stock tire size and gears ?
