Edelbrock Carb adapter?
«

I have an '84 K10 with a stock 305. I just ordered an Edelbrock 600 CFM Electric Choke carburetor. I know that I ill need an adapter to mate it with the stock, 305 intake. Can someone give me direction on where I can find the right adapter? Much appreciated!

I think I saw it at AutoZone and O'Riley but you could also get it mail order from Jegs or Summit.

I have a Jeep CJ7 I rebuilt and put a 350 Chevy in it with an Edelbrock 600. Did I order too much carb for that 305?

I simply want the truck to run well and get better gas mileage. I have had a lot of good experience with an Eddy 600 on other motors. What would be the best carb anyone would recommend if it isn't the Eddy 600? Need to cancel the Eddy 600 before they ship if I should get another. Help!

600cfm will be fine if it is vacuum secondary which the Edelbrock is.

The Edelbrock 1400 series carb (the old Carter AFB) is a mechanical secondary.

Here is the 600 cfm I ordered. It is the #1406 with electric choke. Would I get better gas mileage if I down-sized to the 500 cfm?

Thanks everybody. I am going to close this thread out and open a new one. I cancelled the order for the 600 cfm carburetor.

It isn't going to make a difference if both are vacuum operated secondaries unless one has smaller primaries than the other.

The Edelbrock carbs are mechanical secondaries, with an air valve that is opened by air flow in the secondaries.

i don't know if you've already re-ordered, but i'm seriously looking at the holley 4175 as a replacement for the quadrajet as opposed to getting a reman quadrajet. It's a direct bolt on and simplier.

the 4175 is 650 cfm unless its a modified 350 its too much. even for the 305 holley is saying to go with a 570cfm
