235/75/15 on 6" drop up front
« on: August 15, 2006, 12:34:00 am »
anyone used this set up? The wheels are kinda like chrome mods but not realy, so not sure on the width or bs. If it won't work I will just wait till I get some 15" centerlines and new tires.

Are you saying you plan to drop the front 6" and use those tires?  If so, they will DEFINITEY rub.

Yeah I was planning on running what I already have since my tires aren't but a month and a half old. It will be a 6" drop up font, I figured they might rub. I just want it looking different fast, but now it looks like I will wait some more.

a 6" drop with 235/75r15 is impossible on your truck.

Thanks. I'll start saving for my wheels and tires. Going to run 15x7 up front with some skinnies and some 15x10's with some fatties out back. Should look good with the 6/6. Might aswell look like the truck sounds lol

Realisticly, for an everyday driver 6" drop up front is alot. Honestly 5 is alot for these trucks of ours. Since I dropped mine the lca's scrape on speed bumps and other high spots. The sway bar mounts are an issue too if I get to close to sidwalks and parking blocks. The tires scrape the wheel wells on bumps and turns too. I've got to take it REAL EASY with a 5 inch drop. If I were to get the tires that I should have up front with the 5 inch drop it would actually drop the front of my truck another inch. I'm currently runnin a 60 series BFG. I hate to say it but I'm lucky my fenders are as rusty they are or I would have been stuck in a hard spot after droppin it. Am I goin to raise it back up? hah NO!!
Do you know what size and backspacing the rims are that your goin to be using the day you drop it? And do you  need to be driving it when the weekend is over?
Every bit of info helps you...

yeah it is my daily I think 235/60's will work. I have had a car lower that the lcas hang down on these trucks, so it won't be anything new to me. If the fender is an issue I will roll them.

it's 3/6 now....they sent me the wrong spindles. If i put the spindles on to get the extra 3 my long tubes will almost be on the ground. I got a good drop out of the springs i will take a pic in the light tomorrow. I only have pics of the day after and it has settled alot.
