Follow the instructions for the pistons however, make sure that any technical specs given with the pistons match factory specs IF it is still factory. If not factory then make sure specs match your application. For example, I used a gm crate block, however it was bored .030 over, so I used pistons and rings that are made to accommodate the increase in cylinder size. So my pistons and rings were for a .030 over bore engine.
For the pushrods, make sure they are all in good shape, not cracked or anything. Then check there measurements, length and diameter, be sure they match your application. If it's not gonna have much power stock is ok. If you have power, you should look into better ones. A friend put stock pushrods in a 340 hp ford 302, rubbed against the pushrod guides and broke one going 60 mph. So I used solid one piece chromoly pushrods from Comp Cams and made sure my guides had proper clearance. They should have a set to match your build. Including Summit Racing, Lunati, Edelbrock etc and even GM Performance parts.
