is there a thermometer made that will possible fit in our gauge clusters and look like it belongs there? cab temperature not engine temp

     I am going out on a limb here and say no.  But what the heck, you could make one and post how you did it.

           Just a guess, I would say so he can see how well his A/C is working.

     Well in that case since you live in CA. with me, you better get one that goes above 150 degrees for when your truck is closed up and you go to get in it.   :'(
