Newbie to the forum
« on: March 26, 2014, 09:41:33 am »
Hello,
Newbie here, just joined this forum after a recent purchase of a 1977 Chebbie Stepside longbox.  Sort of an odd truck since the shortboxes were so popular.  Anyway, got it cheap because it needed a set of heads (1 cracked).  Found a set of rebuilt heads on CL for $100 and it runs good.  I do need some vacuum route help before I try to get this thing smogged in The Peoples Republic of California.

Both rear fenders have dents and in my quest for fenders I bought 2 complete shortboxes, one Chebbie and one GMC.  Only 1 of the recently acquired fenders has a side marking light.  I may use the no sdie light fenders for my truck.

I'll post a pic when I figure this place out.  I am a forum paticipant at Performance Years and have '64 and '70 Grand Prixs.  Needed the truck for hauling parts from the self serv junkyard.

That's all for now, just wanted to post an intro.

Trying to upload a pic of my POS truck.

Edited, looks like the picture upload was a success!!

I bought 2 complete shortboxes so that I could get some better fenders.  Only 1 of the fenders had a side marker light.  I guess 1 out four isn't bad.  maybe I'll put on the fenders with no side marker lights, not correct for the model year, but I guess they'll work fine.

Welcome from Alaska.  Long bed stepsides are pretty unique.  I've seen only a few in my life.
