Painted my front grill and the wind blew and stuck he paper to the top right side of it. That's what the white marks are.  Still need to remove tape varnish on chrome.

That's the exhaust. Not finally done. I'll post more pics today when it's delivered

The exhaust pics are "prototypes" , not fully finished...

Bumpers still need tightened down. And the painted part of the front clip below grill needs restored to look like the hood more or less

The exhaust came in!  Finally!  Not the new side steps though.... Heading to pick up the radiator in an hour or so.... Definitely anticipating getting things buttoned together today

Have you thought about buying a clean short bed 4x4 frame and swapping everything over?

"Dude , never doing this again. Too much time, way too much investment needs, etc  I will get a beater someday and do a simple build, ie, refresh engine , different tires and cheap cosmetic fixes... Ie painting ... "

More good news....
Think how easy the next one will be after all you have learned with this project.

Well it is finally coming together. I was worried about the welds on the frame. I am glad you are addressing that issue. I bet it was really eye opening and probably a lot depressing when you discussed it with a professional welder.

You are very lucky to have a team as most of us are on our own. That is just the way it is for most of us. I wish I lived closer so I could come over and help you out.

You have to look at it as getting one step closer every time you get something done. I am really interested in seeing the steps you are having made. Please show some really good, close up pics of them when you get them.

As far as security goes, I agree with you. It is way to easy to steal one of these trucks. Here are some ideas that I have been looking at.
I have seen a locking collar advertised that fits over the column. That might deter the amateurs. I would also put in a battery disconnect switch that requires a key or touchpad. This would be hidden.  And the best idea yet is to hardwire a smartphone into a constant hot wire and hide it in the dash. You can use a tracking app to track that phone. Even if someone steals it, it can be tracked via cellphone. This will help you get your truck back ASAP.

You have to remember that some thieves now are very slick. They are using wreckers to pick trucks up and steal them. And within minutes it is gone. If I could even find a locking boot for the tire, I would put it on too. This sounds like overkill but you have to remember how much it cost you to build it in the first place. It would be hard to replace. I hope this helps.
It's been a LONG time since I have been called a newbie. Just sayin....

lowjack, ravelco,  do have a system as used on street bikes and some of the cars such as a transponder card, will only work within 10-15 feet of vehicle and if goes out side of that kills the signal for ignition etc.
