identifying wire colors

Hey guys, simple opinion question here......lookin at a truck that had a PO spray can what seems like everything under the hood, now just tryin to identify wire colors, whats your best "solvent" to use to uncolor the spray to see what wires im workin with?? acetone? thinner?

     If you use acetone or thinner it might make a sticky mess with the wires that you will hate.
     First try something less corrosive like vinegar mixed with water to see if it will come off.  I have done this in the past, worked for me.  If not here is a you tube video you might enjoy if nothing else.  It uses "fairy power spray".   ;D
