Pet Peeves
« on: July 23, 2014, 08:51:43 am »
Okay...just venting here...

I drive a few co-workers into work.  We take turns driving each week.  My wife keeps the commuter car for doing stuff with the kids and I drive the family minivan (AKA: 8" lifted, 1991 V3500)!  ;)

Anyways...one of the gals I drive finds it constantly necessary to slam my friggin' doors!!!  >:(

My doors open and close just fine without much effort.  Quit flinging the dang doors full-force!!!  A nice gentle close with follow through and it clicks all the way shut and nobody's ears are left ringing and my latches and door frame thank you!

Have you said something to her yet ?  Or better yet, next time she drives slam her's so she gets the point.

I know what you mean buddy.

Two choices...  Tell her not to do it, or live with it.  ya know.  I can't deal with that personally, but if you can,  do it, otherwise make a rule blanket covers all passengers...  no slamming...  or ill slam your front glass door on your house hard as i can...  Ive done it...  id do it again.  my truck means more than whoevers house...

Tho in your case, just mentioning it to them may make them remember not to do it...  most people do it out off habit (dunno why but they do)  and you mentioning it to them in a non smar way might make them stop it.

First day I owned my 55 my buddy Frank slammed the driver door after looking inside, & cracked the glass! Car is almost 60 years old and the doors close better than most newer rigs. I open my mouth right off if doors that work correctly in my rigs get slammed. First time I am nice, after that I am not nice about it.

ehjorten be a gentlemen and when you pull up to the stop run around real fast and open her door and shut it for her ever so gently. after shutting the door pull out a cloth and wipe away all finger prints and talk softly to the door but loud enough she can hear ya "she wont hurt you no more baby i promise" then turn around and look at the chick with a evil smile

#1 Buddy slams doors on everything. If it's got hinges, glass and a handle, he slams it.
#2 Opened up a box of Popsicles with the promise of either orange, cherry, or grape. Not one cherry flavour in the whole box.
