Not a truck, but my buddy has a monte carlo purestock dirt car with a 305. We pulled the intake to replace gaskets. Got the distributor in, has streetfire hei. Pointed the rotor at #1 at tdc, put the plug wires back on and got everything else back together. Tried to start today and wouldn't fire so we changed wires to how they were when we pulled them off. Then it fired bit wouldnt run. Then checked spark and it doesn't have spark. Then distributor started hissing and smoking and got really hot. Any ideas on why it would do this? Ran when pulled it apart
