Headlights and turn signals not working?
« on: October 12, 2014, 01:24:44 pm »
So I recently got a new blazer and now I am trying to get all the wiring for the lighting figured out. My headlights up front don't work neither on high or low beam, marker lights up front don't work, rear lights and markers work but don't blink for turning. It has hook ups for the Orange parking lights that go in the bumper but I don't have them yet. When I pull the light switch out on the dash, the gauge lights turn on but nothing happens up front. When I switch  the turn signal on nothing happens and it doesn't  make a clicking noise either and it doesn't show the arrow lights on the dash. But the weird thing is when I press the brakes both green arrows on the dash light up. I went through and checked all the fuses which where good and I also checked all the bulbs which are also good. Any ideas of what I should do to fix this?

The front bulbs have to be in and working before the back ones will blink

The brake lights and turn signals all flow thru the turn signal controller just behind the steering wheel on the Collum

The controller is about $25 at any auto parts store

I'd replace that first and then start track wires
I dont remember ff the signals have a fuse or not

Alot of trucks have problems with the connections where they pass thru the firewall

Put a jumper wore from the battery to the lights and see if they actually work
Then start backtracking the wires   Check at the engine side of the firewall first
Then check on he cab side of the firewall connector
The wires are the same color everywhere they go

Ours had a bad signal controller and lots of bad connections on the firewall plug

I drilled a hole installed a grommet and cut the bad wires and bypassed the big plug
    No way to fix it
