Radiator Mount...
« on: November 30, 2014, 06:08:53 pm »

Bought this radiator yaera ago..before I even owned the truck. I saw the original one from'87 leaking and kept it in the closet until it was mine or time to replace it.
I never got around to mounting it properly so I bought this.

Got them from Jegs individually. The radiator was too much for the factory TBI 350 but it was sent for more power. So when the LS swap comes I will be ready in that area. I welded the lower tabs tonight and I will finish after work tomorrow. More pics to come. I will still need a shroud between the core support and radiator because the fans won't pull through condenser enough to keep the ac pump from relieving on high discharge pressure(400psi+)  The fans wont pull through the condensor because of the gap. That will surely be fixed just because I can't stand something not functioning properly.

Which fans aren't pulling through the condensor?  Electric or factory.  Have you tested this with a tissue or piece of paper?
You shouldn't need a shroud between the to as they should be about touching.

True they should be but the aftermarket radiator will not mount in the factory location leaving a gap between the  core support on 3 sides. No biggie. I can get thin stainless easily. Only had an hour today but made progress just got. To put it all back together.I will post some pics when I get off duty Wednesday and you will surely see the gaps especially with the new rad mount.
