my thinking would be either rear or t case. if you can hook the front shaft up and remove the rear and try it again and see what it does.
Have you check / inspected the fluid in all the drive train? I would check for correct level. (Top off any that are low with the correct oil). Then get some of the oil between your fingers, see if there is metal shavings, or if it looks like metallic paint.If you find metal you can isolate the component thats having the issue. I would also inspect the front axle joints for dryness, or binding.
