Ok, not to shoot you down Enaberif, but it's not custom at all. The only thing custom on it is the GMC emblem. I will now explain why it's not custom. Mr Bowmank10, it is a reproduction grille for a 73-74 Chevy truck, not GMC. The middle part, the egg crate, which is black in your photos actually comes grey, the owner of that truck just did a good job of blacking it all out.The chrome edges come in to styles, chrome and grey, he chose chrome. And it comes with a bowtie attached already, he has removed this, installed a larger, newer model GMC emblem. Now you can do the same, remove the bowtie, buy a larger, newer style bowtie for the same affect, or leave the one on it that it comes with. Personally, I would use a newer one, probably from say a 2015 Silverado 2500 or 3500 HD.The blacked out egg crate is most visible in your 1st and 3rd pics. The 3rd pic being the most evident, you can also see the small black mounting tabs in the corners. So, with that said, here is my proof. I have highlighted the important information so that you can see the identifying factors I have just pointed out above.
Not to split hairs ... but taking a stock grille and painting and modifying it makes it custom

My truck has the exterior hood release I was also contemplating just doing a grill like this this except with a solid trim piece across the top instead of the bowtieAny opinions?
