Can you paint exhaust manifolds?
« on: November 12, 2015, 09:02:19 am »
I am about to install two new ex manifolds. Is there a high temp gray or steel color paint that we can apply to prevent rust and corrosion?

There is "header" paint.  Some use "BBQ" paint from the hardware store.

They sell header paint as well at a lot of auto stores. I think it is supposed to stand a little more heat. i used it to paint my brothers exhaust (albeit farther back than the headers) and it seemed to work great.

Heres some:

Hope that helps!

Eastwood makes a brush on coating for exhaust manifolds.
I used it on my 79 Jimmy 25 years ago. Wow, time flies.

Actually it can be done on the vehicle too by letting engine run and cool three times for x amount of time.  All set.
