I just got a new dentist, first thing we did was x rays, inspection of the dome mounted meat grinders and then 3 fillings. I can eat curtain foods again without feeling like I got shanked in the head. Curtain stuff would send me thru the roof.

Well there's your problem.  You're not supposed to chew on the curtains.   ;D
Dangit, I didn't even realize I did that..... thanks BD. That made me laugh.

OK, I found out my speakers are bad.  I am wondering if any of you GM parts guys can tell me what the difference besides part #'s of the GM speakers out there.

15038567 is in my '01, kinda pricey replacements northwards of $60 ea. on eBay for AC Delco

19116642 on ebay is less than 1/2 the cost, listing it for a '07 on up.  They sure look the same, both 4 ohm and mounts look the same.

Any input?  here is the 2 links

I'd hate to spend the extra when the newer one would work...

I would advise to use the correct part. The plugs look to be different.

Zieg, I recently installed a pair of Kicker 40CS654 6-1/2" coaxial speakers in the doors of a 2000 C1500.  The speakers arrived with the appropriate mounting adapters and exact fit pigtails.  I augmented the mounting by applying a strip of 3/8" self-adhesive, high density foam around the circumference of the mounting ring to help improve the seal to the door panel and dampen vibration.  I also applied roughly 1 sq ft of Dynamat immediately around the speaker opening of the door.  The aftermarket pair were a perfect fit and impedance match to the OE Delco radio.  What a remarkable improvement.

Thanks so much Rich, I value your opinion and trust your experience.  I just ordered a pair.  Thanks, I will let you know what I think of the sound.  I may even buy a better radio for the old girl down the road.  I am tired of riding around with no tunes...

Given BD's imput, I would have ditched the stock ones too and done like him. Sounds like a better idea anyway.

It won't turn the truck into a concert hall, but I don't think you will be disappointed.   ;)

Sounds pretty good for the price.  Thanks Rich!!!  Now I don't have to talk to myself, that was getting old

Talking to yourself isn't a problem until it becomes a complete conversation.

You're welcome.

Ya when I bought my truck it was a factory radio delete so it took me about a week of driving in silence to Order my radio and I put in the retro sound model 2 and kickers all around, and last night I finished fine tuning it, wow that is an amazing setup it sounded close to a concert very happy with retrosound and kicker
