one or two bolts on each side, a center brace. a couple bolts around the  steering wheel i think, and then you will have to take a cut off wheel and cut alone next to the windshield if you dont remove it. i did it in my mudder and just left it in, either way its welded at the top. i may have missed a few, it is pretty easy when after you start

The metal shell is tack welded to the windshield frame, if you want it gone you have to cut it out.  If the VIN in on the dash you may run into issues if you ever get pulled over and you have no VIN there.  Just something to keep in mind.

Has anybody changed their dash? Also any info on putting a later model dash, say from an 85 or 86 model in an early model, '74? Can just the dash pad be switched? The metal part of my dash is in perfect condition, but the padded cover is hammered! Probably no suprise there...

You can buy the covers that slide over the stock dashes and glue on.  They look like the stock stuff and hold up well.  I didi that to my old GTO and no one could tell it was a shell.  Best $100 I ever spent.

Cabs didn't change throughout the run, so any interior parts can be switched.  My 73 had a 86 model interior in it.  So yes the pad can be switched out.

I sell Dashes Direct replacement dashes and I also sell the Coverlay dash covers.

Man, I should have checked.:\  I recently bought one from another source. When it arrived, it was also from Dashes Direct.

DnStClr No biggie. I haven't added it to the catalog yet so you wouldn't have seen it.  How did you like it?
